The 'Samādhi' Journey

A signature 120-minute facilitated experience | Olive Tree Therapies, Leith

What is the 'Samādhi' Journey?

Samādhi is a Sanskrit word that points toward a quality of presence – an absorption into experience so complete that the usual boundaries between self and world begin to soften. It's not a state that can be promised or produced. It's something that sometimes arises when the conditions are right.

This session is designed to create those conditions, not to guarantee an outcome.

Over two hours, I guide you through a carefully sequenced journey – not toward a predetermined destination, but into whatever is present for you on the day. Each element opens into the next, and you're invited to follow at your own pace, in your own way.

How the journey unfolds

We begin with invitational guided breathing and grounding. This isn't about achieving a particular state – it's simply an opportunity to arrive, to notice where you are, what you're carrying, and what your body might be ready to receive. You can engage with this as much or as little as feels right.

From there, the journey may move into an optional full body massage using warm Ayurvedic oils, applied with slow, intentional touch. You're invited throughout to stay curious about your own experience – whatever you notice, whatever shifts, whatever arises – without needing to interpret or resolve any of it.

The journey closes with savasana, followed by an invitational, mindful return to the room and your body. There's no rush. I'll be with you as you find your way back, at whatever pace feels right for you.

What to expect

We genuinely don't know exactly what will happen, and that's part of what makes this journey different.

Some people find the experience deeply moving. Others feel very little at the time and notice something shifting in the days afterwards. Some arrive expecting one thing and find something else entirely. All of this is welcome, and none of it is the "right" or "wrong" way to receive the session.

What we can say is that the time is unhurried, carefully held, and shaped entirely around you. I bring my full presence, training, and attentiveness to every moment of it, without expectation of where it will lead.

Who this journey might suit

This might appeal to you if:

  • You're curious about what a more guided, immersive bodywork experience could offer

  • You want more than a standard massage but aren't sure what that looks like

  • You've been feeling disconnected from your body, from yourself, or your surroundings

  • You want two hours that are entirely yours, held with care and without agenda

  • You're drawn to the intersection of breath, body, and presence, but don't know where to start

There's no need to know in advance what you're hoping for. Curiosity is enough.

Frequently asked questions - FAQs

Do I need any prior experience of breathwork or meditation?

Not at all. The breathing and grounding practice at the start is offered as an invitation, not an instruction. You engage with it however feels natural, and I'll guide you gently without any expectation of how it should go.

What are Ayurvedic oils?

Ayurvedic oils are traditional Indian medicated oils infused with herbs. They're warming and deeply nourishing, and I select them according to what you bring on the day. My training in Ayurvedic massage and Panchakarma was at the School of Ayurveda and Panchakarma in Kerala, India.

What does "optional" mean in relation to the massage element?

The full body massage is offered as part of the journey, but as with everything here, it's entirely consent-led. If on the day you'd prefer to spend more time with the breathing and grounding, or simply to rest, we can shape the session around that instead.

Is this suitable if I have trauma or a complicated relationship with touch?

Yes – the session is fully consent-led and adaptable throughout. If you'd like to discuss whether this might be right for you before booking, please get in touch and we can have a conversation first.

What is savasana?

Savasana is simply a resting Yoga posture or 'asana'– lying still, with nothing required of you. It's used toward the end of the journey as a space to be, before I gently invite you back to the room and your body in your own time.

Can I book this at home?

Yes. A call-out fee of £25 applies for distances up to 6 miles and £30 for up to 10 miles. Greater distances can be arranged on request.
